The popular quarter-ounce version of the 2021 Gold Eagle coin. These gold bullion coins are an excellent way to add physical gold to your investment portfolio.
Each coin contains one-quarter troy oz (0.25 oz) of pure gold by weight. Like all Gold Eagles, they are .917 fine gold, also known as 22 karats. As legal tender, the face value (denomination) is $10.
The obverse bears an updated adaptation of the Augustus Saint-Gaudens design from 1907. It depicts Lady Liberty standing atop a hill that overlooks the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Rays of light pour out from over the horizon. Miss Liberty holds an olive branch in one hand and a lit torch high above her head in the other hand. Inscriptions include the year “2021” to the right and “LIBERTY” along the top rim. The edge design is reeded.
On the reverse, a bald eagle family is shown in great detail. The father eagle hovers above the family nest, bringing an olive branch in his talons. Two baby eaglets are snuggled with their mother in the nest. The coin’s weight specifications and denomination are found at the bottom rim, “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD~10 DOLLARS.” The two national mottoes are inscribed on either side of the eagle nest.
This will be the final year of the iconic design before the new issue is released in 2022! The 2021 American Gold Eagles are sure to become collectors items for years to come!
