Description
The Walking Liberty design, originally created in 1916, graces the obverse of the coin. Lady Liberty is shown striding toward the rising sun, symbolizing the dawn of a new day. She carries laurel and oak boughs in her arm while wearing a dress decorated with the stars and stripes of Old Glory. “LIBERTY” is boldly inscribed above while the year-date “2021” is found at the bottom rim.
The new reverse design shows a bald eagle flying now in a more life like design. The beautiful wings are visible with incredible detail and stunning accuracy, as the eagle holds a large oak branch in its talons, which is the national tree of the united states. In addition, the new coin contains enhanced security features, liked reeded edges. The eagle is surrounded by inscriptions including the country, weight, purity, denomination, and the US motto “E Pluribus Unum”.
